I don't really remember when I started to draw. I think when I was 10
or so. My earliest artwork was pretty much me copying Jim Davis'
Garfield characters over and over again. After my obsession with the
lasange loving cat wore off I started drawing my favortite
super-heroes. In high school ( Grades 7-11) I started to design my own
charcters and put them into my own comic books. My art style
drastically changed during this time. I wanted my art to look like
comic book art so I began to heavily mimic my all-time favorite comic
book artist John Byrne. Later on, other artists would influence my
style; Jim Lee, Todd Mcfarlane, Marc Sylvestri, Arthur Adams, Mike
Zeck, Ron Frenz, and Mark Bagley. I remember drawing constantly during
those days, every class was an art class to me. My school work suffered
from this of course and I had to do a couple of years in Adult
Education to get my diploma. After all that, off to college I went and
into the Illustration and Design program. Now I was able to draw in
most of my classes and not worry about the teacher confiscating
anything.
